Erythrocare is a macrolide antibiotic which is mainly active against Gram-positive bacteria and Mycoplasma.
It acts by attaching to the 50s subunit of the ribosomes and prevents ribonucleic acid from attaching to the receiver site preventing the synthesis of protein.
Erythrocare also inhibits the activity of the peptic transferase.
